Carlos & DJ Ray are some of the youngest producers to step into the Lucidflow fold and draw much of their style from a wide variety of musical genres including Jazz, Funk and even Samba. 

After setting up Lucidflow with Nadja Lind to express their musical creations Helmut Ebritsch has led by example using his own name as well as his Hatikvah and Klartraum guises. Helmut’s musical journey began when he started producing music on a c-64. After putting out his first EP in 1996 his releases have blossomed and Helmut has recently signed a album deal with Soma. 

Carlos Sanchez’ & DJ Ray ‘Last Call’ is a cymbal shuffling low end groover. With a tight vocal sample flittering in and as the track climbs with the aid of a synth to leave a devastating low end growling at you. 

Last Call is then given the remix treatment by label boss and B side artist Helmut Ebritsch. The whole groove has been given a more pumping feel with a heavier kick drum, sharper snare and the cymbals have a slightly straighter feel. The dominant roaring bass has also been lifted and coupled with the drop out of various elements creates more peaks. 

Helmut Ebritsch’s Palmcove is next in line. This is a eerie workout out that is driven forward by a bass line that is relentless and rolling.

Hi Five mobilee! Part 2

Part 2 of the ‘Hi Five mobilee!’ compilation series is quite a contrast to its predecessor with more hip swingin’ housey vibes. Moon Harbour’s Daniel Stefanik first appeared on mobilee at the very early stages of the label, with his track “The Bells” featured on the limited edition add-on release to Pan-Pot’s ‘Obscenity’ EP. Back then his style was associated with old school Chicago and Detroit sounds, and “Tripiando Los Colores” shows that he’s still continuing to refine his style. Meanwhile Marcin Czubala brings us „Spinning The Roulette“, with playful percussion and a hypnotic groove, offering guaranteed fun on a plate.

Rodriguez Jr’s debut on mobilee records this year, „Princess Guacamole“, caused quite a stir and now he’s back with a punching bass line track, „La Cavalcade“, whilst Dan Curtin is up for „Things That Go Funk“ and plays around with a diverse range of sounds, including some classic old-school piano chords. Long time friends and studio partners, Anja Schneider and Lee Van Dowski, present „Shinkansen“, an ambient techno track that simultaneously drifts and builds with melodic chimes, and long time label friend Marc Antona completes the package with “Cotton”, a deep and atmospheric minimal landscape layered with textures.
